MY ROLE
Senior Visual and Interactive Designer – UX/UI, Website Design, Product Design, Design Strategy, Research
Christie's is an art business and a fine arts auction house, currently the world's largest, with sales for the first half of 2012, some $3.5 billion, representing the highest total for a corresponding period in company and art market history.
PROJECT
Place bids from anywhere in the world. Christie's online bidding platform with real-time live streaming video brings the excitement of the saleroom right to your computer so that you can bid from you – wherever you are.
I worked closely with the Christie’s team to greatly modernize and improve the Live Hub experience. Through the Christie’s Live Hub, users were able to register to bid, browse auctions, add an event to a calendar, and view each live event in a simple and beautiful responsive format from the web to the app.
PROJECT
Using proven conventions from major e-commerce sites, I provided a responsive redesign with better UX and UI to allow the user to not only easily search Christies.com, but also allow the user to easily bid or buy on the same page, making for faster transaction and more sales.
OLD SITE
As an art auction house, it is incredibly important to be able to quickly search for specific art or auctions also known as lots. Search results pages play a big role in getting people to see the lots and get them to transact.
Using competitive research and finding the needs of the targeted use, I designed an intuitive responsive search experience that users were able to not only sort in a more simplified way but also introduce a taxonomy that suggested results by art category.
PROJECT
Reimagining the Calendar page where users can view, reserve, and bid on the famous Christie's auctions online.
OLD SITE
The Calendar pages underwent a needed redesign experience with more informative CTAs and UI that resulted in increased transactions and calendar reservations.
